Haute goat
It is getting cooler outside and the one thing that always makes my very beloved best girl and partner smile and sigh is cashmere. I think there is something downright holy about it. Every time you put it on your skin, you feel protected and soothed.
If cashmere is holy, my longtime customer and friend Heidi Kapppes Belinsky rescues angles. Heidi goes anywhere she can to find and ‘rescue’ old cashmere sweaters, then turns them into scarves and other accessories.
You can purchase her goods at a lot great boutiques here in Seattle or you can shop direct from her Etsy store. She will take down the link when ever she has a big trunk show like she does today a the Canal Station Art Walk. Heidi and many others local artisans will be at the Canal Station Condo community lounge, 2nd floor from 3:30pm to 9:30pm. Go buy and get something nice for your sweetie early and feel good about it because it is sustainable!
P.S. You can also read her blog by following this link: Haute Goat
All I want for Christmas…
My birthday is near enough to Christmas that my parents always made sure there was a clear separation between birthday and Christmas gifts.
When I was starting kindergarten, I had a neighbor friend that had a two-wheeled bike and I remember learning how to ride without training wheels. I only took a couple of spills and then seemed to get it. I remember also the thrill of being able to just GO!
Well, I was cruising around the internet a while back, looking for a bike and I found Electra Bike. I love the traditional Dutch bike “Amsterdam”. It is both beautiful and functional.
Now, Electra and The Gap have teamed together to bring a new model of beach cruiser for Christmas time, complete with very hip argyle fenders and white wall tires. The only problem is, you have to get it at The Gap.
This post has the possibility of netting you free coffee. Read through and you will find out how.
I have a little program of analytical information that is attached to this blog and everyday it tells me many different things.
It tells me how many individual hits the blog gets, (if you come back for a second or third look on the same computer it still counts as one look.) It also tells me what parts of the blog are the most popular. Right now, the most popular is the “location” feature. What it doesn’t tell me is what parts of the city, county, state, country or globe you may be coming to this site from.
I know my friends around the country are looking at the site, I just don’t know where from. So I have devised a way to tell, a contest of sorts.
This is where the free coffee come in: For the next Calendar week, (ending on Thursday, November 20th 0:00H GMT) I will gather information about who lives the farthest away from the shop. Follow these instructions:
Leave a comment in the ‘comment’ section of THIS POST. Please don’t leave your home address in the post. I will contact you for that information then measure the distance ‘as the crow flies’ using Google Earth. At the end of the week, I will ship the person who lives the farthest away a 12oz bag of Muse Coffee Co beans. It is that easy.
To be fair, it must be your home address.
So, Sorry Josh, Mark, Chelsea, I know you live too close. Maybe Jennifer in Denver will be the one, or Erica in IL will win. Maybe Jon in LA will win if Shaundra in Boston doesn’t see the post…
Kiss my paintings
Ron English is a Pop artist and has a new exhibit at the Shooting Gallery in San Fransisco. Taking classic paintings, he applied the signature make up from Ace, Gene, Paul and Peter to them and voila! ART!
I love San Fransisco and maybe I should head down just for this show! The secret history of KISS opend on November 1st
Art or Clean hands?
I want to get an new sink in the bathroom at Muse and after perusing through a few, I found what I want.
They are super cool, but not very practical for a commercial space.

Great design made in wood with a glass face at the front of the sink.

This one is made of an eco-friendly concrete product and shaped like a topo-map of a lake. I love it.
Life in 90 Seconds
Flickr is now allowing video uploading and it seems to be controversial, but I don’t really see why.
Thanks to Ross, I was introduced to this group and I love the concept; record your life, edit it to the best minute and a half, then post it for everyone to see. Thanks to Ross’ brother Bryce and Sister-in-law Shawna for posting this. Please let me know if you take the challenge, I would like to see it and post it on this blog. Have a good week!
