I get a lot of questions about how I came up with the name ‘Muse’ for the shop.
There are many different places this came from:
1. The shop was named after my Muse Kelley who encouraged me to follow my dream and open the store and continues to support me and inspire me.
2. Coffee has been the ‘muse’ of creative people for hundreds of years. I thought this was a great way to honor cafe culture.
3. I wanted to provide a place for you to come and feel inspired to be creative and productive. I want you to come to Muse and connect with your friends and neighbors, maybe even create new friends.
I want to provide everyone with a place that they can feel comfortable and inspired. Muse baristas have over 25 years of combined experience in pulling espresso and we take our coffee serious, but we never take our selves too serious. My talented and skilled baristas will never be arrogant or serve your favorite drink with a side order of apathy or attitude like you sometimes find other places. (If someone is ever rude to you, I want to hear from you). We are not located on Queen Anne Ave so we have plenty of parking and frankly, we have the best coffee in town.
Everyday while working I see people from different business backgrounds collaborating on individual projects and working together to help each other achieve goals. I see people who live near each other connect and create community.
I love seeing these interactions in the store and hope you come in and contribute to this great community.
